Safe driving is and has always been a must when it comes to driving at all, whether you're in the passenger seat, or in the backseat, or in the driver's seat. From putting on your seat belt to watching everything on the road and driving your car, safe driving is from minor to major things on the road. I remember the day I got my driver's license, it felt so good to be free behind the wheel but then the accidents come in if I attempt to be too free. The freedom felt so exhilarating too, it's like I've become an official adult. All the time I've heard about driving being from Point A to Point B, it's actually about being responsible, ensuring the safety of other passengers, and ensuring the safety of other vehicles on the road. One day I was going home from a party after getting my license, I was tired, on my phone sometimes, and dozing off a little bit. I glanced at my phone and was dozing off, my phone fell and I swerved a little bit and I almost crashed into a brick wall. I swerved out of the way at the last second but that jolt woke me up and a few seconds after that I realized that I was really about to die if I didn't get out of the way. I realized that I have to be better with driving because imagine if there were people with me in the car. From that day on I always put my phone on "Do Not Disturb" mode every single time I get in the car, no matter if I'm going somewhere that takes 5 minutes to get to or  somewhere that takes me 5 hours. A close friend of mine was involved in a serious accident and I lost him from it soon after I almost died and it hurt my heart but also gave me the drive and motivation to stay absolutely safe while driving. That experience and the experience from my friend really enforced my already committed desire to stay safe, I started talking about it on social media, talking about it with friends and family, I genuinely do not want to lose anyone else. I care about the people I want to talk to, I want to protect the people I love, so I'm willing to slow down. An aspect of driving safely is how the car is functioning and what you have to do to help it function. People don't talk about how in shape the car must be, you need to check your tire pressure regularly, make sure all of the buttons inside the vehicle are working, make sure the airbags work, make sure the seat-belts work, and make sure the brakes are in great condition. I'd recommend to get your car checked out very frequently. I've heard before that driving isn't just about you but it's also about the people who are driving with you as well. It's a responsibility that you have to have the maturity to maintain, you're putting everyone's lives in your hand when you're the one in the passengers seat. I drive with the intention to be safe with everyone, I drive with the utmost amount of care. The one message I'd love for people to take away from this is: don't hesitate to be safe, don't look for the "thrills" of driving, please stay safe. People would be sad if you passed away or died. We can make the road safer for all of us, you included! Driving safely also means understanding that it’s not just about you. It’s about everyone sharing the road, other drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and passengers. You have to be mature enough to accept that responsibility. You’re not just steering a vehicle; you’re guiding lives. That mindset changes everything. Now, every time I drive, I do so with intention. I slow down. I stay alert. I think about the people I love and the people I’ve lost. I think about the families in other cars, the kids crossing the street, the elderly couple trying to make it home safely. I drive with care, not just for myself, but for everyone.Don’t let distractions steal your focus. The road can be dangerous, but we have the power to make it safer, for ourselves and for each other. My own experiences — both terrifying and tragic — have taught me that safety isn’t optional. It’s essential. It’s about maturity, awareness, and compassion. It’s about choosing to care, even when no one’s watching.
