Instruction Permit
Must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training through an approved program.
Supervised driving required with a licensed driver age 18+ in the front seat.
Must hold the permit for at least 12 months or until age 16, whichever comes first.
No traffic violations for the previous 6 consecutive months.

Restricted License
Eligible after meeting permit requirements and completing approved driver education.
May include restrictions:
No driving between 9 PM and 5 AM unless accompanied by a licensed adult or for work/school activities.
One non-family passenger under 18 permitted unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Available at age 16 if the driver has satisfied all GDL requirements.
Must maintain a clean driving record (no violations or accidents during restricted phase).
