15½+
Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card
(TIPIC)
Teens may apply at age 15½ with parental consent after passing a vision and written knowledge test.
Restrictions:
Must drive only with a licensed parent/guardian during practice hours.
No driving between midnight and 6 AM, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Driver Training Requirements
Teens must complete:
24 hours of classroom instruction
8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed instructor
Supervised Practice Driving
Teens must log 50 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night, with a parent or legal guardian.

Probationary License
Issued after completing training and practice requirements and passing the driving test.
Restrictions (first 12 months):
No driving between midnight and 6 AM, unless accompanied by a parent or for work/school/church events.
Only one non-family passenger allowed unless a parent/guardian is in the vehicle.
All passengers must wear seat belts.
No mobile or electronic device use while driving.

Full Driver’s License
All restrictions are lifted if the driver has maintained a clean record. The license becomes unrestricted, and the driver is granted full privileges.
